SINGAPORE: The United States shattered the world record in the mixed 4×100 metres freestyle relay at the World Championships in Singapore on Saturday.
The American quartet — Jack Alexy, Patrick Sammon, Kate Douglass, and Torri Huske — posted a time of 3:18.48, edging past the previous record of 3:18.83 set by Australia at the 2023 World Championships in Fukuoka.
