LONDON: UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and French President Emmanuel Macron held high-level talks in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, underscoring the depth and durability of the historical and strategic partnership between the United Arab Emirates and France.
The meeting, hosted at the Zayed National Museum, reflected the growing breadth of bilateral cooperation, with both leaders reviewing progress and exploring new avenues of collaboration across key sectors. Discussions focused on economic and investment ties, cultural exchange, renewable energy, advanced technologies, artificial intelligence, and sustainability areas that increasingly define the future-oriented partnership between the two nations.
Sheikh Mohamed and President Macron emphasized their shared commitment to advancing innovation-driven growth, climate action, and long-term prosperity, reaffirming their intent to further elevate cooperation in line with mutual strategic priorities. According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), both leaders expressed confidence that the partnership would continue to deliver tangible benefits for their countries and peoples.
The talks were attended by senior Emirati officials, including Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan; and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs. President Macron was accompanied by a delegation of French ministers and senior officials, highlighting the importance Paris attaches to its strategic engagement with Abu Dhabi.
The meeting reaffirmed the UAE–France relationship as a cornerstone of broader cooperation between Europe and the Gulf, particularly at a time of rapid technological change, global energy transition, and evolving geopolitical dynamics.
